Rugby Football Union
The rugby union landscape has changed significantly over the past few decades and one of the biggest challenges facing the game is finding ways to reach and engage with young people, especially those in the 16 – 24 age groups. To build on, and complement, the work happening in volunteering and growing new markets as part of the Lead Up and Legacy strategy, we have been successful in securing a grant of £750k from the Spirit of 2012 Trust. This grant will fund a Rugby World Cup related legacy project working with 16 – 24 year olds to create and deliver innovative ways of introducing other young people to rugby.
The Raise Your Game project supports the following sessions at Bransbury Park, Somerstown Hub, Fratton and Southsea.
Spirit of 2012 Trust is a Big Lottery Fund endowed body set up after London 2012 to keep alive the spirit of the Games. Spirit of 2012 is an independent trust tasked with helping to secure a lasting social and community legacy from the London 2012 Games. The Trust works in partnership with other organisations and projects to enable young people to take an active part in their communities; whether through sport, art, culture, education or volunteering.
