Powerchair Football

A competitive team sport for people with disabilities who use power wheelchairs. The game is played in a gymnasium on a regulation basketball court. Two teams of four players use powerchairs equipped with footguards to attack, defend, and spin-kick a 13 inch football in an attempt to score goals. Pompey now run Hampshire’s ONLY Powerchair team. It is one of the few sports where youngsters of any age can compete against each other.

The team train bi-weekly and compete in regular tournaments over six weekends a year. A member of the team’s father is an International Powerchair referee and he will run the team in conjunction with our Pompey coaches.

We have Powerchairs so you don’t need to provide your own, so if you’d like to find out more please email Steve Baxter on stevebax1@virginmedia.com
