Job Title: Goalkeeping Coach
Reports to: Head of Women and Girls Football
Hours p/wk: Flexible (Hours available will be after school hours, the centres run on a Tuesday/Wednesday and Friday.)
Contract: Zero Hours
Salary: Pay dependent upon coaching qualifications

The key role of the Community Coach is to provide quality coaching on football sessions and to motivate and enthuse the young people engaged on the sessions. JOB DESCRIPTION: Emerging Talent Centre and Junior Premier League Goalkeeping Coach
Duties and Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for:
- Plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate goalkeeping coaching sessions, following a training programme typically devised by the player development lead.
- Provide input to the development and ongoing improvement/adaptation of the coaching curriculum.
- Work across all age groups
- Coach in a way that ensures players:
- Are encouraged to ask questions and seek feedback for improvement and clarity.
- Are encouraged to have input to footballing decisions and their own learning process.
- Are communicated the why’ as well as ‘what’ of decisions.
- Know and understand the purpose and ‘why’ of training sessions.
Administration:
- Record participation and attendance
- Ensure communication to the players and parents concerning the age group are consistent and align to the PITC communications
- Store and maintain kit and equipment
- Maintain a well-supplied medical bag
- Create player development plans for each player
Self-development:
- Attend CPD events
- Be aware of current research and insight to support programme and coaching development.
- Adhering to PITC’s Safeguarding Children, Health & Safety, and Equal Opportunities and all other policies at all times.
- Making sure that your DBS check, Safeguarding Children, First Aid and any coaching certificates are kept up to date.
- Willing to contribute to your own Professional Development by attending organised courses and finding your own courses where appropriate.
- Ensuring that all registers are properly maintained and returned promptly.
General
- To represent Pompey in the Community and Portsmouth Football Club in a professional manner at all times, regarding to uniform, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications
Essential
- FA Level 2 Goalkeeping Coaching Football Award
- Current Safeguarding certificate (or willingness to update ASAP)
- Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to update ASAP)
- Current FA Coaching licence (or willingness to undergo necessary CPD)
Desirable:
- Full UK Driving Licence Car owner and willingness to use own vehicle for work
- FA Youth Module 1
Experience:
- Experience of coaching football to young people.
- Experience of coaching/working with youngsters
- Excellent communication skills.
