Developing Young Talent
The Girls Development Programme is designed to help young players improve and progress within a structured, professional football environment. Players train twice a week and play in the JPL and Hampshire girls league under qualified coaches, focusing on technical, tactical, and personal development. The programme also includes an annual media event to showcase players and their journey. Trials are held once a year in June, and entry is only available through this trial process.
What is it?
The Boys Development Programme, delivered by Pompey in the Community, is a player development pathway designed for boys aged U8 to U16 who are looking to enhance their football ability in a challenging and supportive environment. The programme provides high-quality coaching sessions twice a week, combined with competitive Saturday fixtures in the Junior Premier League, helping players develop their technical skills, tactical understanding and confidence. Designed to support young footballers in reaching their highest potential, the programme offers opportunities to progress through the club’s player pathway and gain exposure to higher levels of competition.

How do I join?

Our JPL squads are selected through an annual trial process held each June. Trials for the 2026/27 season have now taken place, and squad registrations are currently closed. Players interested in joining the programme in the future are encouraged to take part in our other sessions and keep an eye on our website and social media channels for information about next year’s trial opportunities.
