On Monday 28 April, local business and community leaders swapped boardrooms for sleeping bags to raise vital funds for Pompey in the Community, Spark Community Space, Homestart, and Walking With The Wounded—four amazing charities working tirelessly to support vulnerable people across Portsmouth.
This event isn’t just about one night without a bed. It’s about standing in solidarity with those facing homelessness and hardship every day—and using our platforms to drive real change. CEO Sleepout has raised over £5 million for more than 200 UK charities, but the need remains pressing. In Portsmouth alone, the number of people requiring temporary accommodation rose by 54% last year, underscoring the importance of such initiatives.
Pompey in the Community deliver targeted support for individuals and families at risk of homelessness. This includes providing access to emergency essentials through foodbank deliveries, wellbeing services and employability programmes like Landsec Futures paired with Gunwharf Quays—all aimed at helping people regain stability and build a brighter future. By tackling the root causes of homelessness, they play a vital role in strengthening our community from the ground up.
Together they raised over £18.4k but donations can be made at ceosleepout.enthuse.com/cf/ceo-sleepout-portsmouth.
Together, we can make a difference.
“We see firsthand the challenges many people in our city face—whether it’s homelessness, food insecurity, or social isolation. CEO Sleepout is a powerful way to raise both awareness and essential funds that help us continue delivering life-changing support. We’re proud to be part of an event that unites the business community to stand up for those who need it most.”
“Too many people think homelessness is something that happens to someone else—until it happens to them.”
