We had some very special visitors at our Holiday Courses on Tuesday.

Pompey’s Hayden Matthews and Joe Bursik stopped by to spend the last part of the day with our young footballers, and it was clear that this was a visit the kids would never forget. From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere was amazing the children couldn’t wait to meet them and show off their skills on the pitch.

Joe, brought his goalkeeping magic and decided to take on a few penalties from the kids. Our participants gave it their all, firing shots at goal, only for Joe to make some incredible saves. Of course, a few cheeky goals did sneak past him, but it all added to the fun and laughter. Hayden got stuck in to, chatting with the players about life as a professional footballer.

The players also took the time to answer questions from the kids. From favourite matches and memorable moments to advice for aspiring footballers, Hayden and Joe were full of tips and encouragement.

The visit was about fun, teamwork, and creating memories that the kids will carry with them for a long time.

A huge thank you to Hayden Matthews and Joe Bursik for taking the time to visit our Holiday Courses. The day was a huge success, and it reminded everyone why community and youth engagement are so important to Pompey.

We can’t wait for the next visit, hopefully, the kids will be ready with even trickier penalties next time!
