It’s been a fantastic Autumn term for Premier League Inspires, filled with exciting projects, creative challenges and brilliant achievements from students across our partner schools!

Between September and December, we’ve been busy delivering the Premier League Inspires Programme at St Edmund’s Catholic School, Ark Charter Academy, Portchester Community School and Miltoncross Academy. Across these schools, students have taken part in a variety of projects including Transitions, Social Action, Mentoring, Careers, and Mental Health & Well-being, all designed to help young people build confidence, develop essential life skills and prepare for their next steps.

All our cohorts had the chance to get involved in fun team-building activities, helping them to recognise and strengthen key life skills such as communication, problem-solving and teamwork. A firm favourite was the Spaghetti Marshmallow Tower Challenge, where groups worked together to design and build the tallest possible structure using only spaghetti, marshmallows and tape, with a prize for the winning tower! Another creative challenge Paper Tower, saw teams given just 10 pieces of paper and tape to build their own unique tower. Each group had the opportunity to decorate their paper towers with pens to reflect their team identity.

As Miltoncross Academy is our closest partner school, their delivery took place at our Pompey in the Community Study Centre. Students completed their booklet activities in the classroom before enjoying time in the breakout room, where they could unwind and play on a range of game consoles and table tennis, a great balance of learning and fun! Before the Christmas break, students from Miltoncross had the opportunity to visit Flipout as part of their celebration event. The trip was a fantastic reward for their hard work and positive engagement, giving everyone the chance to let off some energy, have fun with friends, and create lasting memories. The students had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish.

Alongside school sessions, we also hosted and supported several key events this term, including the Mitre Event, Show Racism the Red Card workshops, Williams Racing Experience Centre visit, Celebration Events, and Career events across schools. Each one gave students the chance to connect, learn and celebrate their progress.

It’s been an inspiring few months, and we’re so proud of the enthusiasm and effort shown by all our young people. A huge thank you to our partner schools and staff for their continued support. We can’t wait to see what the Spring term brings!
