We are delighted to announce that James Cooke has been named our Premier League Community Captain as part of the More Than A Game initiative. This programme celebrates individuals who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in their local communities.

James’ journey with our programme began as a participant in our community sessions, where he quickly showed enthusiasm and commitment. He later progressed into the Premier League Kicks programme, gaining skills not only on the pitch but also in leadership and teamwork. Today, James volunteers his time supporting free football sessions at the John Jenkins Stadium, helping to engage over 50 young people each week.

His dedication highlights the real impact of volunteering and giving back. Through his work, James has become a role model for young people in the community, showing how sport can bring people together and inspire positive change.

“James has been and continues to be an amazing person to work with. His dedication to our Premier League Kicks sessions is second to none and he goes above and beyond to ensure all of our participants are enjoying themselves in their safe spaces. We have known James for a number of years having previously been a participant on our PAN Adult Disability programme and it’s been great to see his progression over the years. All of us here at Pompey in The Community are extremely thankful to James for everything he has done and continues to do for us.” – Callum Fowler Premier League Kicks Lead

James’ story is a reminder of how even small acts of dedication, like giving up time to mentor others, can make a lasting difference. We are incredibly proud of everything James has achieved and continue to support him as he helps shape the next generation of young leaders through football.

Congratulations, James, and thank you for your outstanding commitment to the community!
