Lauren, one of Pompey in the Community’s BTEC football players, is preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as she gets ready to travel out of the country to America for the very first time.

The 16-year-old joined Pompey in the Community in pursuit of a higher level of football after leaving school. Since making the step up, she has continued to develop both on and off the pitch and now finds herself part of an exciting overseas experience. Lauren also plays for AFC Portchester in the Women’s first team.

While the trip promises to be a memorable one, it also marks a series of firsts for Lauren. She has never been to an airport or flown on a plane before and is feeling a little nervous ahead of the journey. Despite this, her excitement is clear as she looks forward to a trip away with her teammates.

Making the trip even more special, Lauren will celebrate her 17th birthday while in America!

Speaking ahead of the visit, she said: “I’m excited and thankful to Pompey in the Community for the experience.”

Lauren’s journey is a testament to her dedication and willingness to step outside of her comfort zone. Everyone at Pompey in the Community will be supporting her as she takes this exciting step, both in her footballing journey and personal development.
