A head-turning supercar wrapped in the logos of some of Portsmouth’s most loved
independent businesses will hit the streets in May, celebrating the city’s entrepreneurial spirit
while raising money for local charities.

Inspired by classic motorsport liveries, the McLaren 540C is currently being transformed into
a moving tribute to Portsmouth’s independent business community, showcasing the people
and places that make the city unique.

Football fans will get a sneak peek of the car on Saturday, 2nd May, from 11:00 as it’ll be
placed outside the Pompey in the Community Offices on Anson Road. The car will then be
officially revealed at The Queen’s Hotel in Southsea on Monday, 4th, between 11:00 and
13:00. Media and influencers are invited to the official reveal at The Queen’s Hotel (2
Osborne Road, Clarence Parade, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 3LJ).
Over the course of two weeks, the car will tour some of Portsmouth’s most iconic locations
and will be parked in hot spots, giving people the chance to see it up close, take photos, and
support local charities Pompey in the Community, Spark Community Space and URBOND

Charlie, co- founder of Matthew Charles Motoring Collective, said:
“Portsmouth’s community of independent businesses are a a huge part of what makes it so
special, and we wanted to celebrate that in a way that’s impossible to ignore.
This isn’t just about a supercar, it’s about shining a spotlight on the people behind our city
and giving something back at the same time.
The campaign combines community, creativity, and charity, with the hope to raise both
awareness and funds while encouraging residents to explore and support local businesses.”

The car will be revealed at the iconic Queen’s Hotel on Southsea Seafront on bank holiday
Monday, 4th May at 11:00, with media and the public invited to attend.
