When Ernie first joined the Friday Advanced Training Centre (ATC) sessions at The John Jenkins Stadium, he was already a football-mad boy with a huge passion for the game.

“He just wanted to play matches and get better,” his parents explain. “He had lots of enthusiasm and a great attitude, but we felt he would benefit from extra coaching, more of a challenge and being around other players who shared the same passion.”
Although Ernie loved football, he was naturally quite shy. His parents hoped the programme would not only develop his technical ability but also help him grow in confidence.
That decision has certainly paid off.
For Ernie, Friday evenings have become the highlight of the week.

He loves the opportunity to do what he enjoys most, playing football. The challenging sessions, the chance to work hard and learn new skills, and the positive atmosphere all keep him coming back each week.
“It’s not just about football,” his parents say. “He enjoys being part of a group where he can have fun, become more confident and improve as a player.”
Since joining the programme, Ernie’s family have noticed significant changes in both his football and his personality.
“He has become more outgoing and motivated,” they explain. “He is always so excited for the sessions and loves being pushed to be the best he can be.”
His willingness to try new things has grown, as has his ability to listen to coaching advice and put it into practice. Most importantly, he has developed greater belief in his own ability.
