Pompey in the Community’s FA Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) U8s, U9s and U11s travelled to the Oxford United Training Ground for an evening of development-focused fixtures against Oxford United ETC.
The players took part in a variety of small-sided game formats, including 4v4, 5v5 and 7v7, providing opportunities for the girls to experience different challenges and continue their development in a high-quality environment. Competing against another ETC programme allowed players to test themselves in an unfamiliar setting while enjoying valuable learning experiences both on and off the pitch. Across all age groups, the girls demonstrated excellent attitudes, teamwork and a willingness to embrace new challenges throughout the evening.
“It’s always great to bring the girls into a new environment, particularly at a professional club’s training ground, and to play against other centres that are working towards similar outcomes through different approaches. The girls across all of our age groups applied themselves brilliantly and embraced the challenges they faced throughout the evening. It was a fantastic environment for learning and development. Thank you to the team at Oxford United for hosting us and to our parents and carers for their support and willingness to travel.”
