What began as a fun activity during the school holidays has turned into something much more for 7-year-old Robin, who has just earned a place in the Junior Premier League (JPL) U8s for the upcoming season – an amazing achievement that highlights both his talent and the pathway provided by Pompey in the Community.
Robin first attended one of Pompey in the Community’s (PitC) Holiday Courses last summer, simply looking to enjoy his football and make new friends. It wasn’t long before coaches spotted his ability, work ethic and enthusiasm for the game.

Robin joined the Skills Training Centre in September, where he began to receive more structured coaching and technical development. By Christmas 2023, recognising his potential, Pompey in the Community staff invited Robin to join the Advanced Training Centre (ATC) – a key stepping stone in Pompey in the Community’s pathway programme.
His dedication and continued development at the ATC, has lead to Robin being officially selected for the JPL U8 squad for the 2025/26 season – a competitive youth league known for developing future stars.

As Robin prepares for the season ahead in the JPL U8s, his story is an example to what young players can achieve through dedication, support, and the right environment.
