Pompey in the Community is proud to name Patrice Link as our Premier League Community Captain, recognising his dedication to both the game and the local community.
Over the next two weeks, the Premier League and clubs will be celebrating ‘More Than A Game’, an initiative showcasing the incredible impact of Premier League investment in grassroots football and community projects. Between 2022 and 2025, the League is committing £1.6 billion to support football at all levels, benefiting millions of people across England and Wales.
As part of this initiative, over 100 Community Captains will be honoured for their contributions to Premier League-funded programmes, including those in the EFL and National League. Patrice Link has been chosen as Pompey in the Community’s 2025 Community Captain in recognition of their exceptional commitment to local projects, particularly their work with Premier League Primary Stars.
Pompey in the Community is delighted to celebrate Patrice’s achievements and acknowledge their instrumental role in improving English and Maths through the power of football in local primary schools across Portsmouth. Their passion and dedication have made a real difference to the lives of many.
Pat said: “I’m incredibly honoured to be named Community Captain. It’s a privilege to be part of such a vibrant and passionate community, and I’m committed to using this platform to inspire, engage, and give back in any way I can. Together, we can achieve great things both on and off the field.”
Taylor Monk, from Pompey in the Community said: “We’re delighted to name Patrice as our Premier League Community Captain, having been involved with the CCO since 2016. Patrice’s journey displays the progression possible within a CCO with the right application, having originally joined us as a participant before progressing as a volunteer, sessional coach, full time and now a project coordinator. The award is a testament to the work Patrice does on a daily basis across the city in addition to leading on our disability delivery over the last 4 years.”
Premier League Director of Community Nick Perchard added: “It is vital that we recognise those at the heart of our community programmes. Success on the pitch allows us to invest in initiatives that have a lasting impact on football and society.”
