We are proud to announce that Pompey in the Community has won the Innovation Award at the Octopus Legacy Spring 2026 Awards, recognising the success of our legacy giving campaign delivered in partnership with Octopus Legacy.
The award celebrates organisations that are finding new and creative ways to engage supporters with legacy giving, and we’re delighted that our campaign has been recognised for its innovative approach to reaching and testing new audiences.
Throughout the campaign, we have used a range of channels to raise awareness of the lasting impact a gift in a Will can make. This has included features in Portsmouth FC matchday programmes, articles in our newsletters, engaging social media content, and integrating legacy giving into our Pompey ‘Til I Die programme to encourage long-term support.
As well as reaching new audiences, the campaign has focused on normalising conversations around leaving a gift in a Will, helping supporters feel more comfortable discussing legacy giving and understand the difference their future support could make to people across our community.
Octopus Legacy recognised the breadth of our campaign and the variety of ways we have promoted legacy giving, highlighting our commitment to engaging supporters through multiple touchpoints while encouraging lasting relationships with Pompey in the Community.
Winning this award is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved and reflects our commitment to finding new ways to connect with our supporters while securing the future of our work. Every gift left in a Will helps us continue delivering programmes that support children, young people and adults across Portsmouth and the surrounding communities for generations to come.
