Pompey Defender Regan Poole Joins Community Kitchen Session 

At Pompey in the Community, we were delighted to welcome Portsmouth defender Regan Poole to our Community Kitchen last month, as part of our ongoing efforts to support local Pompey fans with healthy cooking, wellbeing, and energy-saving skills. 

Regan joined participants for a special diabetes-friendly cooking session, delivered in partnership with Smart Energy GB, where he immediately got involved; chopping, stirring, mixing, and chatting with the group as they prepared a nutritious meal together. The visit formed part of the EFL Week of Action, a nationwide initiative promoting community engagement. 

The session focused on building confidence in the kitchen, learning simple energy-efficient cooking tips, and creating a warm, friendly environment where participants could develop practical skills while enjoying each other’s company. Regan’s enthusiasm was infectious; he spent time at every station, helping participants with their recipes and sharing stories, from match preparation to favourite home-cooked meals. 

Participants were thrilled to have a first-team player alongside them. Regan spoke about the importance of healthy routines and staying connected with the community, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. 

After the session, participants enjoyed the meal they had prepared together, and Regan posed for photos, answered questions and thanked the group for welcoming him so warmly.
