What an incredible day!

Our very own Nelson kicked off the action by taking part in the first-ever Great South Run Mascot Dash, leading the way before just being pipped to the post by Rowan the Meerkat from Rowan’s Hospice. But don’t worry, Nelson’s already training hard to claim the top spot next year!

Following that, we’re bursting with pride for our Blue Army superstar, Luca, who took 3rd place out of over 800 runners in the Mini Great South Run. What an acheivement! Luca has also raised over £100 for Pompey in the Community so a huge thank you and well done to him.

Though we’re sad the Great South Run was cancelled on the Sunday, we’re incredibly grateful to our amazing Team Pompey. Over 70 volunteers, staff members and supporters signed up to run, helping us raise nearly £8k at this point. Our runners worked so hard on their training over the last few months, even a year, and many of them went out to achieve their 10 miles in their own time this weekend too.

A massive thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to SG Fleet UK for kitting us out. Keep an eye on emails regarding your 10 miles places.

A huge shoutout to everyone in the Great South Run team for looking after us. The journey continues – there are other opportunities to join us on your running journey coming up.
