We wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to The Eisner Foundation. The Eisner Foundation is a Non-Profit Organisation based in California, founded by Portsmouth Football Club owner, Michael Eisner and his wife Jane. After spending time in Portsmouth, they have decided to support four local charities.
Donating a whopping $30,000 to each of the charities, they will make substantial difference, not only to the organisations, but to the entire community.
One of those incredibly lucky charities is Spark Community Space, and we can confirm that the money donated will be put toward a part-time members wage and a safer IT system for them to use. This means the small team are now entirely funded externally from Spark!
Another lucky charity is the fantastic Pompey in the Community who “promote education, healthy living, sporting participation and achievement among vulnerable and disadvantaged people of all ages”. Their donation will fund new gym equipment, which will enable them to provide access to inclusive health and wellbeing activities as well as educational opportunities to boost employability and progression across the city.
The Lifehouse, a free food kitchen, resource and support centre, is an incredibly important and valuable charity who are based in Southsea. They will be putting The Eisner Foundation’s generous donation toward a new kitchen, to keep providing food for the local community.
The final charity to receive a donation are MAKE at Aldingbourne Enterprises who “support adults with learning disabilities and / or autism to develop skills within a variety of areas to enable people to lead independent lives and gain employment within the community.”. They will be putting there money toward a CCTV and security system.
This is a massive success for all four charities and we are so grateful to Trent Stamp from The Eisner Foundation, Steve Cripps from PMC and Steve Pitt, leader of Portsmouth City Council for putting the charities forward for this support!
