PitC continue delivery of degree courses
The 2020/21 academic year will see Pompey in the Community (PitC) continue its partnership with the University of South Wales (USW) in supporting the delivery of degree courses in Community Football Coaching.
The programme consists of an initial two-year Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development with the option of a third-year BSc (top-ip) degree in Football Coaching, Development and Administration.
The undergraduates complete their studies via distance learning at the Pompey Study Centre and by attending two residential courses per year at the University of South Wales.
Studying with PitC provides students with the supervision and guidance of fully-qualified and experienced members of academic staff, along with invaluable industry experience with the opportunity to complete paid work delivering on PitC community projects.
James Miller, PitC’s university mentor and USW graduate said: “In an industry so full of competitors, it is vital for individuals looking to work within the community football industry to make their qualifications and skill-set stand out from the rest of the field.
“Studying with PitC and USW provides students with a rare opportunity to combine their studies alongside delivering community-based football sessions, gaining vital experience in the sports industry.”
