Pompey in the Community has been proud to work with Portsmouth City Council during the Easter holidays to launch the new Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programme, HAF Fun Pompey, thanks to funding from the Department for Education.  The programme is open to children who receive benefit-related Free School Meals, offering them free access to fun activities, sports and a good balanced meal.  The programme will also cover the summer and Christmas holidays in 2021 and will run at multiple locations across Portsmouth.

Children’s health can have a significant impact on their attainment and/or wellbeing, but the provision of good quality, affordable and accessible food options and activities can help them with their development, leading to better outcomes and life chances overall.

Pompey in the Community have been able to help during the Easter holidays by providing a total of 180 free places at our football holiday courses at PlayFootball (ROKO) and 20 free places over 6 days on our cooking courses, held at the Pompey Study Centre in Anson Road.

If you’d like to find out more about the HAF Fun Pompey, Holiday Activities & Food programme, which is not limited to the activities offered by PitC, contact: [email protected] .  They will be able to tell you if your child qualifies for free activities and how to register for the activities that are planned for the summer holidays.
