The Pompey Plod has officially come to an end, and what an amazing journey it has been!

Over five unforgettable days, Clare Martin MBE completed five marathons in five days across Portsmouth, all in support of John Jenkins Stadium in a challenge that really brought people together and showcased the very best of our city. Thanks to the incredible generosity and support from across the community, we are proud to share that over £6,000 has been raised, a truly amazing achievement.

Thank you just doesn’t feel big enough.

Every donation, every cheer from the pavement (or beep from the car!), every shared post, message of encouragement, high-five, smile and moment of belief helped carry Clare through each mile. This challenge was not just about running, it was about community, connection, and creating something meaningful as part of our centenary celebrations.

Along the route, Clare was welcomed, supported and inspired by so many fantastic people and organisations. With heartfelt thanks to Express FM, Stephen Morgan MP, Delivered Social, Gunwharf Quays, The King’s Theatre, Goulpar Brickwork, Hampshire Flag Company, Biscoes Solicitors, Free Spirit, Elis, Motorpoint, Athletic Performance Therapy, Safevue CCTV (Andy Dean), Amanda Martin MP, Spinnaker Tower, Life ’n’ Chimes Group, Big Yellow, Portsmouth Football Club, Motiv8, Sparks, Harnesses.com, Queens Hotel, Fort Cumberland, The Guildhall, Mary Rose Museum, Our Adult Disability Group, and finally crossing the line at the Shaping Portsmouth Conference.

Each stop, each conversation and each show of support reminded us just how special Portsmouth is.

Portsmouth, you showed up
Thank you for backing Clare, for believing in the Pompey Plod, and for helping turn an incredible physical challenge into something with real impact and lasting meaning for our city.

From all of us, thank you
