[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Pompey in the Community are excited to announce the return of the education programme, ‘Joy of Moving’, which is a completely FREE course for year five classes across Portsmouth and its surrounding areas for the 2020/21 academic year.

Sponsored by Ferrero and provided by the EFL Trust, ‘Joy of Moving’ provides schools with a FREE five-to-six-week programme, which is delivered using a 45 minute classroom-based lesson supported with an additional 45 minute PE lesson.

Classroom-based lessons feature education around healthy and active lifestyles, and the additional PE lesson is also delivered by PitC coaches.

FAQ’s:[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title=”Are there any hidden costs?” tab_id=”1607087691112-4394de6d-ddc5″][vc_column_text]No, it’s completely free! The lessons are available exclusively for year five students and all of this brilliant programme’s delivery and resources brought to your school are completely free.

As a requirement to the funder, data on the class is necessary and is a requirement on the service level agreement between the school and Pompey in the Community. This data is strictly used to evidence delivery and is in no way used by any partners.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What availability do you have?” tab_id=”1607087691112-a8391054-3d2b”][vc_column_text]Lessons last 45 minutes and consist of a classroom activity (healthy living) supported by a 45-minute PE lesson. Schools will be offered on a first come, first serve basis across time slots between 09:00 – 14:30, Monday – Friday. We’d encourage schools to book two classes at a time, operating simultaneously with two members of staff from PitC.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What happens if we need to cancel a lesson during the five week delivery?” tab_id=”ld-1607088006346-e3ef748c-2943″][vc_column_text]We know things pop up and not all year groups can honour the six-week delivery model. We request each school provide PitC with at least ten days’ notice prior to lesson cancellation.

We will endeavour to work collaboratively to re-arrange the lesson suitable to the school’s needs. Should a lesson be cancelled within the ten-day period, an alternative lesson slot will be offered upon availability of PitC staff either the same term or the following half term.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”We already have an external club/company/organisation in – will it conflict?” tab_id=”ld-1607088014044-5ae05537-1958″][vc_column_text]Not at all. Joy of Move is an additional programme to support staff and enhance children’s experiences of living an healthier and active lifestyle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][vc_column_text]Our coaches will collaborate with your teaching staff to deliver fun, educational sessions across healthy living that will also encourage physical activity.

“The Joy of Moving programme is designed to help children develop their physical, cognitive and social skills in a fun and educational way. This is done through two national projects, Move & Learn programme and the Joy of Moving Festivals that engage 70,000 children nationwide each year.”
