Pompey in the Community are delighted to announce a new partnership with local charter standard club Berewood Panthers for the 2020/2021 season.
The partnership will see the introduction of a new player pathway for PAN disability players aged 6-16.
PitC currently provide a free session via the Premier League Kicks programme once a week, which will now feed into Berewood Panthers U12 & U16 teams.
Alongside the midweek session, players will now be able to access an additional Sunday morning training session ran by Berewood Panthers.
Players will then be able to register their interest in signing with the U12 and U16 teams that play in the local PAN disability team affiliated to Hampshire FA, which are supported by both PitC staff and Berewood Panthers coaches.
Taylor Monk, Head of Community Projects at PitC said: “Berewood have been at the forefront of disability provision across Portsmouth based grassroots teams. By joining forces we’re now able to provide more opportunities and in short, long-lasting experiences for our targeted 6-16-year-old participants.
“We’re still working hard with Ian and the team at Berewood to discuss how we can continue to evolve our disability provision across the city in 2021.”
Ian Hurry, Chairman of Berewood Panthers added: “Berewood Panthers Youth FC are extremely excited to announce a partnership with Pompey in the Community.
“This partnership is between two like-minded teams that always put the players first. We are immensely proud to work alongside such a prestigious outfit for the benefit of all of our teams.”
